A name for the greenhouse? My suggestion is ‘Trinity Bellwoods Community Greenhouse.’ Or ‘Friends of Trinity Bellwoods Community Greenhouse’ but that is a bit long…
I’ve been thinking about a few issues for the next meeting…
Should we talk about ways to improve the space for the plants? For example, do we need shade cloth during the hot summer months? How can we install it so that it looks pretty?
In the name of “thrift”, do we want to stay with the tables we have or do we want to strive for a “demonstration greenhouse” approach and get moveable shelves for the plants that can fit out the door so we can hose the whole place down periodically.
How can we communicate with each other more effectively? Some people like the blog and others prefer to leave notes in the greenhouse with pen and paper.
We now have a lot of people working in the greenhouse, each with their own ways of doing things. Have we struck a good balance between doing things in a standardized way versus encouraging people to experiment?
Do we want to create a planting day just for the greenhouse group since we can’t get everything planted on May 4th Park Day?
Also, there is a native plants fair at the Evergreen Brickworks on July 7th. They want to know if we would like to reserve a table. Does anyone want to represent us at the fair?
A Planting day is needed because of heat wave, who is available and when
Fence detail needed to be completed afterwards or during same time
Treasurer report
Cleaning trays and major clean up needed before it is too hot to be in there, during days.
Kids programing ideas?
Please submit your ideas I would like to hear from everyone
How has your seed starting gone, what would have your learned, What would you do differently next time, success storeys etc…
